Many posts to this (OE6) newsgroup made via NNTP are not arriving here in OE
(especially posts made via Windows Live Mail) or in the web-based access to
this newsgroup.
Many (if not all) of the posts made via the web-based access to this
newsgroup are not arriving here in OE.
Many posts made to this newsgroup via Google Groups are not arriving here in
OE or in the web-based access to this newsgroup; e.g.,
http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress/msg/b0032c995a550425
Speaking of Google Groups, it looks like every post made to this newsgroup
via NNTP (any news client), via the web-based access, or via Google Groups
is showing up in Google Groups archive of this newsgroup
(http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress).
That being said, it /appears/ that this behavior is not being seen in OE
General newsgroup, so if you're having problems finding your posts here
(moonraker), use OE General as your default instead.

I have tried several times over the last couple of months to compact emails
in OE. (Usually due to being prompted).
Within the box entitled "Compacting"
The compacting starts, and zips through the various email folders and then
moves onto the newsgroups, (about 8/9 off).
With the green progress bar nearly full and showing a "folders file" name
tag, a message box explodes on the desktop:-
"The folder is currently in use by outlook express or by another
application"
But no error code.
The box just sits there folding up the pages and on this occasion has
refused to close!!!!!
This may have occurred since having started accessing the newsgroup on this
PC late year, as I used to use the Win98 machine
Many thanks

I have only recieved the welcome message from OE but have not received
anythingelse or being able to send any. Help please

I have a 91-year old senior citizen friend, whose kids just bought him
a new computer with Windows 7 - and no e-mail program. He is
attempting to use the Verizon web-mail, but he doesn't have the
addresses from his old computer Outlook (??) program. Is there some
way that his address book from the old computer be imported into his
new computer, and then exported to his Verizon web-mail address book?
Thanks!
I should have mentioned that the attachment had a wps file designation. To
open it, I got a message which said that I needed a converter and that I
should insert my MS Office XP Standard for Students and Teachers. I did so,
and the unreadable attachment was the result. I have Outlook Express 6.
Thank you all for responding.
I was able to open this attachment but it is written in computer code. Is
there any way to translate this into readable English? Thank you for any
help.
Tom

quite concerned?
Have they been kidnapped or taken to another newsgroup?

Like it says, I have a large number of files I need to store somewhere other
than on the hard drive, so how do I get to copy them to a cd?
I have tried but they don't seem to finish on the cd.

Via Outlook Express 6, somehow I managed to screw up the posts in a
different news group so that now I see nothing in that subject after
1/30/2010 7:32pm EST -- do you know how I can recapture those posts?
Jack
Running WIN XP and OE6. Generally happy with OE6 but realize this is a dead
program.
Any reasons why I should not switch to WLM which I understand to be
Microsoft's
current replacement for OE6-8
Thanks

I have just taken over as unpaid secretary of a golf club and do most of my
work using my home PC. I have distribution list of all members emails (approx
300) but do not wish them all to be displayed to all recipients. I am aware
of the use of bcc to hide other addressees; however, I am told that including
too many addressees in the bcc list causes problems with either ISPs or Spam
filters. Is this true? If so can anyone suggest a work around.
Thank you
it wont let me send any messages everything is right but this authentication

Hello
When you right click on a picture to email it, you are asked if you want
Windows to reduce it's size which I usually want to do. If you want to
email several pictures, it's easy if they are in the same folder.
If they are in separate folders, how do you downsize them all?
Thanks
