I went on vacation and when I came back I had the Outlook 6 on my computer.
I lost all of my addresses and old emails. Help me to fine them Please.

We've used Outlook Express on this computer for many years. Now we can't
access our new mail or send mail using it. The error message reads:

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to delete emails within specific
folder on every monday?
My folder is named Junk mail within Outlook Express, I would like to clear
this folder automatically on every monday. Does anyone have any suggestions
on how to do it in Outlook Experss 6?

Does anyone have any suggestions on setting rules for email filter?
I get 2 sets of rule for filtering email.
1 rule at top
If receiver is myname@domain.com, then send to my folder.
2 rule at bottom
If send is not contained @office.com, then send to trash bin.
When I send an email to myname@domain.com, and open Outlook Express 6, I
expect this email will redirect into my folder, but it redirects into trash
bin.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what wrong the rule is on filtering
emails?

Unable to turn off or on the security feature in Outlook Express 6 with
latest updates, Tools\Options\Security\"Block images and other external
content in HTML email".
The check box does not allow setting this feature, and the apply button
remains grayed out.
Consequently, I can not render certain legit web site icons and can not go
to their URL link associated with this image.
Am using Win XP with IE 8 with all the latest updates, Outlook Express
6.00.2900.5512, norton antivirus & systemworks. Everything else works
perfectly.
Anyone had the same problem or know how to correct this bug, or where the
enty is stored in the registry that might need an entry replacement or value
change?
Appreciate any suggestions

- moving Identity to a newer computer

I am moving everything to a newer computer, and I'm not sure how to go about
it with Outlook Express and all my email and email folders. I tried copying
the old Identity to the new computer, putting it in Docs & Settings right
next to the new Identity. But so far it isn't showing up in Outlook Express
when I try to Manage and Switch Identities. Is there a correct way to do
this?
I have the two computers hooked up via a LAN so it is easy to copy files
back and forth.

I used to drag and drop links from OE6 messages to IE7 window to open the
webapges. It suddenly stopped working. I checked in the IE7's Internet
Options > Security > Internet Zone > Custom Level > Security Settings > Drag
and drop or copy and paste files is enabled. It is also enabled in the Local
Intranet zone. How do I get it back? Thanks!

I am still using ie6 for newsgroups. Some newsgroups get mad as hell when
they see someone top-post to a reply. Ie6 always top-posts. Can this be
changed to bottom postings?

I posted this earlier in the IE forum but got no help there, soi I will =

I am running WinXP SP3 w/IE 7 (with IE 7 Pro). I am looking for a way =
to add a customized button to the IE 7 toolbar. What I want to do is =
deploy a button that will print the current window (that is, the =
currently displayed web page) using a specific non-default printer, IOW =
without me having to select the printer to be used if it is not the =
default printer. To be more specific, I want to print the window using =
an installed PDF virtual printer when I so desire without having to =
actually select that printer from the list of installed printers using =
the print dialog window opened by selecting the Print.... button.
I have an idea how to do this, but I would like to know if there is a =
preferred or easy way to do this, and specifically what kind of script =
or command I would have to use for the button action (I can do this in =
VB 6, VS2008, or even Javascript if that would work, or whatever). All =
I want it to do is to operate like the normal Print... button on the =
toolbar, the one that drops down a selection for Print.., Print =
Preview.., or Page Setup, but I want it to just open the Print options =
dialog with the PDF Driver already selected as the printer to be used.
I have a procedure of sorts for doing this using the group policy =
functions but it is rather general. Is it possible to do what I want? =
Best of all would be if there is a free util for adding such a custom =
button to the toolbar.

- Transferring Files From OE To Windows7 ?

Hello,
Expect to get a new PC as soon as te new ones come out with Windows7
installed in late Oct.
Presently using OE 6 and XP.
Trying to learn about some of this now, though.
I guess I will be forced to use Windows Live rather than OE with Windows7
My needs are simple, and OE has done everything I require, but I understand
that Windows Live is a pretty basic one also.
Is it possible to transfer all my saved OE Folder files like SENT, etc. from
OE to
Windows Live (easily) ?
Read a brief mention that if you go to OE/ TOOLS/ OPTIONS/ MAINT. there is
"some" way of creating a folder with all the stuff you want to transfer, and
then loading it into WindowsLive.
A bit on in years now, so please bear with me.
Is this the (best and easiest) way to do it, or... ?
Any specifics and details would be most appreciated.

I have windows xp with service pack 2. I hope someone can help fix my
problem. When I check for email at my ISP and see there is mail to download
to my computer and then go to Outlook Express, Outlook Express shows it is
checking for new messages but then says there are no new messages. If I then
go back to my ISP mail it shows the messages that were there have been
deleted. Outlook Express is deleting my mail off my service provider but
showing I have no new messages in my inbox. I tried deleting "Inbox.dbx" and
restarting Outlook Express but that did not solve the problem. I will really
appreciate any suggestions you can give. Thanks,

Get this message when trying to send e-mails via outlook express: 'couldnt
send message because the server didnt accept the address.'
I know the address is correct and it doesnt seem to be a problem with my
internet operator (have tried sending e-mails via Mozilla Thunderbird and it
works) so why do I get this message??
Have recently uninstalled a trial of office 2007 and installed office xp pro
(2002). This is the first time I have tried outlook express on this computer.
On my old computer there were no problems. Can there be issues caused by
uninstalling the office 2007 trial?

There are 3 email accounts, one is local account and 2 hotmail account.
For the local account, I don't mainly use it for communication, and only
receive any email from domain @abc.com, otherwise transfer into trash bin.
For the 2 hotmail accounts, one@hotmail.com is used for business, and would
like to transfer into one's Inbox folder, if the receive email is
one@hotmail.com.
two@hotmail.com is used for other, and would like to transfer into two's
Inbox folder, if the receive email is two@hotmail.com. For this account,
there is a lot of junk mail, and would like to set rules to transfer email
into trash bin, if the receiver email is two@hotmail.com and sender email is
not recognized,
On the other hands, does anyone have any suggestions on how to create a list
of domain, if any sender's email is contained within this list, then transfer
into specific folder, otherwise transfer into trash bin.
One more questions, if I load hotmail email into Outlook Express's specific
folder, and Outlook Express cannot be synthesized, when I open Outlook
Express again, will it reload all emails into Outlook Express again, so I
will get many copy of hotmail's email?
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do it?

Hello,
I'm seeing an issue that confuses me, and was hoping someone could give me a
suggestion or two.
We use POP3 email at our office. Some users run Outlook while others use
Outlook Express. I am running Outlook 07. One of the Outlook Express users
never receives attachments from me. The message comes through just fine, but
no attachment. There is no .dat file or .txt file or any notice that an
attachment has been stripped, it's as if the attachment never existed. Other
OE users in the office receive attachments from me just fine. Not being that
familiar with OE, I was hoping someone might know if there's a security
setting somewhere about downloading attachments. I did see the option about
not opening attachments that could potentially be a virus, but the users who
do receive attachments from me have that checked, so it wouldn't seem that
could be it. (I didn't see anything in the security settings on our mail
platform that looked like it could be the culprit.)
All of our OE users are running OE6, XPPro. Any suggestions would be
greatly appreciated.

I amusing OE 6 on Windows XP SP2. This evening I noticed 29 days worth of
incoming e-mails had disappeared from the Inbox. I checked deleted folder,
did date searches, checked trash, but still can't find the e-mails. Current

After installing XP sr3 update, Outlook Express doesn't load. When I click on
the OE icon, an IE8 "Internet Properties" page comes up.
My Internet cable access is available by IE, Quicken and other apps. Only OE
seems to be effected. It's apparantly looking for the internet address. The
Connections page is set-up the same as the other 2 computers on the network.
IE8 was installed Sep 4
SR3 was installed Sep 5

Please help. OE6 doesn't start because "msoe.dll" isn't found.
It is there and all dbx are archive-not-read-only and I tried everything
visable on usenet, including installation of Internet Explorer 7. Hoped that
the last action would install e new OE-6 or OE-7.

I've upgraded to WLM which has now replaced my shortcut to OE to launch WLM
instead. I thought that now I was unable to use OE anymore until I clicked
a links in my WLM and found that OE still runs. Please advise where the exe

Hi,
Getting a bit ahead of myself, but would like to understand what I'm in for,
possible.
Will be getting a new PC in late Oct. with pre-installed Windows7 Home
version
Might be called Home Premium; not sure.
Also not certain yet if it will be the 32 or 64 bit version.
My needs for e-mail are about as simple and basic as one can have.
I use OE now, and am very happy with it; it does everything I want.
I understand that Windows7 will come with a very basic MS Windows e-mail
program built in, but no longer OE.
Will it be possible to transfer my address book to this new probram ? How ?
Will it be possible to transfer all my SENT Folder, and other Folders stored
e-mails to this program ? How ?

i am sorry i have to open a new thread everytime. when i do a new post it
goes thru msnews which works, however, when i do reply it tries to go to
hotmail.and it can't.
let me try to explain where i am to now. when created the new account it
moved all items from hotmail into the local folder inbox. i can see this is
my only option.
so i am set with incoming mail , however, i cannot send mail even though i

- Hotmail problem with outlook express

I can able to load hotmail into outlook express from link as show belo

but all hotmail emails go into inbox, which mix with my local email account,
I would like to set for the previous set, so I can see my hotmail account
including 4 types of folders: Inbox, Outbox, Delete, Junk.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do it within Outlook Express 6?

If I want to print just a part of an email, I select the text I want to
print, click file, print, selection, print, and the desired text prints.
This work on most emails whether they are sent in plain text or HTML format.
However this does not work on a few HTML formatted emails that I receive.
When I select the text and do the file/print routine, the selection button
is gray and I have to print the entire message. If I go to tools, options,
read, and select "read all messages in plain text" then the print selection
works.
Why does this happen for only a few HTML emails? Is there a way to fix it?

I used to check hotmail account using Outlook Express, but today when I open
my outlook Express 6, and not able to check my hotmail account with following
error message,

Does anyone have any sugestions on how to solve this problem?

- problems with oe

i am trying for awhile to send a reply in my previou thread CAN'T OPEN
OUTLOOK EXPRES
and it doesen't go i tried to send something new with the name test it went
so i am trying again

i am very sorry 99 percent of the applications i work in i use caps.
i can tell you a little bit more about what happened. after i put in a new
account
in oe by the name of hotmail1 and made it the default when i opened oe it
pulled all the messages from hotmail and put all 619 of them into my local
folder in the inbox by the way, i think i had a few messages saved there
now it's going to be like looking for a straw in a haystack. any way when i
try to open any of the hotmail boxes i get access denied check username
password it can't be because of caps because my password is all numeric i
was able to copy my response from details here it is Forbidden

User name: teekay21@hotmail.com

i had written what you see above i tried to send it and it wouldn't send i
got the following error i don't remember the exact wording ot but something
to the effect an occured while trying to perform task and in detail i got

in tasks it said trying to send message using hotmail (1)
now i am all confused i don't know if at made it the default and what i have
to do to make it work.
