- Combined view of inboxes. How?
-
Hi all,
I just came back to outlook after years. I'm testing the 2010 beta and
god, I'm impressed.
One thing though I would like but can't achive;
In the favoutites pane, you can set up favourite inbox so you can have
a quick glance at what's going on on your favourite account. Great, but
I would like to be able to have all inboxes in that place.
To be specific, I want all the folders etc as they are now but want to
be able to preview all incoming mail from many accounts by clicking
just one button.
I don't want it to move and merge emails from many inboxes into one
physically I just want it to combine the view of them...
Sorry I can't really descirbe it properly ;0 That's why I've attached a
pic.
Any advice welcome.

- OL 2007 save as .txt adds line breaks
-
Good day,
we receive reports from our database system in landscape plain text
format which are then saved to disk and further processed with systems
such as MS Excel or Access.
Problem is, that since Outlook 2007 these e-mails get re-formatted by
Outlook (adding line breaks according to the display on the screen)
causing all Excel / Access routines to break. In Outlook 2003 this did
not happen.
Is there a way to prevent this and save the .txt e-mail as it comes
from the server?
Thanks n brgds

- Creating a rule
-
Hello,
I always ysed OE for my mail but now that I got a new PC with windows 7 I
have to use Microsoft Outlook since OE does not exist in Windows7. I want to
create a rule which will say if the message is from ....... OR in the subject
there is a word ...... move to file ......
I can't seem to understand where the OR option is. In OE there was an OR
option for rules, here in Microsoft Outlook I can only find the AND option.
Maybe I have understood it all wrong. Can someone please help me how I can
use the OR option in rules?
Thank you

- Outlook 2003: Your message did not reach some or all of the
-
I'm having an odd problem with outgoing email in Outlook 2003.
I just got a new laptop w/XP Pro and loaded the MS Office Standar
Suite w/SP1. I also downloaded and installed Office SP3.
I set up Outlook email w/all my POP3 settings and tested the setting
in Outlook -- all fine.
Incoming email is no problem. However for some outgoing emails, I ge
an immediate (and I mean instantaneous) bounce-back message that look
like the following:
Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.
Subject: Test
Sent: 2/5/2010 12:13 PM
The following recipient(s) could not be reached:
thelsey1@optonline.net on 2/5/2010 12:13 PM
None of your e-mail accounts could send to this recipient.
The problem seems to be specific to certain email addresses. Som
addresses I send to are fine; others get that instant bounce back. An
there seems to be no domain patterns. For example, some gmail addresse
work, others don't.
to check to make sure it's not my ISP or settings, I set up Outloo
Express w/the same settings and all emails went out flawlessly -- n
bounce back issue.
What's curious is how quickly the emails bounce back. It's not lik
it's traveling to the recipient, and being processed, and the
returned. It's like it's being immediately rejected.
I've uninstalled and re-installed Outlook 2003 and SP3 to no avail.
also did a system restore to an earlier point to see if some software
loaded might be causing a conflict, but the problem persists. I als
disbaled my anti-virus software...problem still persists. Anyone hav
any idea what the problem could be

I see my contacts folder but I can't use it to send an email to multiple

I get the following error:
"The address list could not be displayed. The contacts folder associated
with this address list could not be opened; it may have been moved or
deleted, or you do not have permissions. For information on how to remove
this folder from the Outlook Address Book, see Microsoft Outlook Help"
I believe that's where I got the advice to uncheck "Simple file sharing"

I also tried various kinds of "exports" and "imports" that are provided in

None has worked.

- Where is the Delete Messages options?
-
I've looked and looked without success. I'm pretty sure I saw it before.
Its where it asks you if you want to save a copy of messages on the server
and then should give an option for it to be deleted from the server when
you delete it from your Deleted folder in Outlook. That seems like a good
way of syncing things.

- Outlook 2007 \ Contacts - Group ... possible glitch?
-
I've been using Outlook for many years. Just now I 'removed' several
members from a Group Contact but _did not_ save the changes when closing
the Group Contact. If I reopen the Group Contact I see the changes that I
made (but did not save). I am prompted to Save or Cancel the 'changes' yet
again and again I Cancel.
The only way to view the Group Contact without those changes is to open yet
another Contact and then go back to the Group Contact in question. I now
see the unchanged (and original) Group Contact.
What am I not understanding here? Also, if this is a known issue, my
apologies in advance for taking up your time. Thanks, Dave Horne

- No Personal Folder Files are currently open
-
Yesterday, I exported my contacts from Outlook 2003 to use on another
PC. This export worked fine.
Since then (may just be coindidence), when I try and back up my
personal file using Outlook Personal Folders Backup, the "save backup"
button is blank and clicking on options gives the legend "No Personal
Folder files are currently open"
The last succesful backup was 3 February at 22:36.
Well, the Outlook file must be open as all e mail, calendar, contacts,
tasks & notes are available and working.
I do however have a "Personal Folders" listed at the bottom of the
list of folders which cannot be opened, or deleted - could this be
something to do with my problem?
I have searched for a solution in vain! Can anyone help please?

- Outlook 2007 - sent messages appear in "sent message" folder in different account

I use Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 Office 2007, Outlook 2007
Outlook 2007 - sent messages appear in "sent message" folder in different
account
All my sent messages appear in different folder of another account that I
have setup in Outlook.
Can someone help me with proper setup so all my sent messages from one
account are saved in "sent message" folder of that particular account and
not in another account?
I have two accounts in Outlook 2007. One is my private email folder called
abc folder and another one is used for biz called xyz folder. When I send
message from xyz account, copy of that sent message is saved in "sent
message" folder in abc account instead.
How can I setup my account so all mesages sent from abc account would be
copied and saved properly in "sent message" folder in abc account?
Thank you.

Hi,

My problem: I receive many emails daily to which i need to click on a hyperlink within a time limit to verify receipt of the email. It is very tedious task to having to be on 'standby' to do this mundane task.
I am trying to setup a macro where when an email is received it automatically clicks on the link for me. Is this possible?

During the process of trying to migrate everything, I managed to import my

original emails. Is there a way to filter the second and third copy for
deletion? I looked at mail cleanup, but did not see anything about deleting
duplicate copies.

- Where else to find folders of emails on a computer?
-
We are using Outlook 2007 with Exchange server. We have a user who has been
moving his emails off of the Exchange server to some folders he created or by
Auto Archive feature in Outlook 2007. He basically drag and drop the emails
from his Exchange server Inbox to his folders on the left side. The question
is, where are all of these folders full of emails located on the local
computer? At first I thought it must have been the Auto Archive feature that
kicks in every 14 days and created those folders for him to be able to drag
and drop, but when I check the following location the archive.pst file size
is very small.
C:\Documents and Settings\%your username%\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\
The total folders of emails must be about 1 to 2GB in file size. Where else
on the local machine could Outlook had put it?
Any help is much appreciated.

- Setting Default Page Margins:Outlook 2003
-
I would like to establish default page margins so that every e-mail
composes sets itself up as automatically as it adds my signature--but
don't seem to have any control at all over margins
I'd like my margins to be about 60 characters wide in 10-point type
Evey time
Even though my signature sits about 2 inches from the left margin
every line I type begins at the extreme left of the screen and goes o
to extreme right. It makes for poor readability.
Now and then a little ruler comes down from the top of the page; it ha
little things on it that resemble the margin-setting devices on ol
typewriters. But often as not the rule disappears as soon as I try t
access it. When I HAVE accessed it, the little devices have refused t
move. When they have moved, they have no effect on the page set up
Some little dark black ''L"-shaped things also appear--and also d
nothing
Oddly enough, I have established margins in Word: 1 inch left margin
for example. Not that that helps--the printouts always have 2-inc
margins

The way Outlook seems to handle telephone calls is, you choose your

Is there any way to make this work with a headset

- How to Set Default Margins and Tabs for Outlook 2007?
-
I have Office 2003 and use Word 2003 for the editor. When I start a new
e-mail, the margins and tabs on that page are identical to the defaults set
in Word's Normal template (normal.dot). That works great.
On the 2nd computer, I have Office 2007 and Word 2007. Even though I
modified the margins and tabs in Word's normal template (normal.dotm), those
settings don't translate to my e-mail messages. How can I modify the new
message margins and tabs in Outlook 2007? I am using the default stationary
(None) in both programs.
Thanks,

- In the body of an email I am composing how can I make an email ad
-
When I compose an email with an email addy or web addy in it they do not turn
blue and automatically link up. How can I make them turn blue and when
clicked on go to that addy or that person? I don't know if you would call it
highlighting or not but the addy os usually in blue print and stands out.
There is a link here below that says 'about display names' and it is blue and
makes a connection...that is what I am talking about....I want my email to
have addy links like that when someone gives me their new email addy.

- Two questions
-
Using OL 2003 on a WinXP system.
1. I need to run Outlook on both my desktop and my laptop. Is there a
pretty easy way to transfer my settings -- e-mail, addresses, notes, etc. --
from my desktop to my laptop?
2. This is about the newsreader. It's frustrating when you're used to
working quickly, as I am. I press "Reply," but this sets the response to
the poster instead of the newsgroup. I mean to remember to click on Reply
Group, but I keep forgetting. I use ctrl-r to respond. Some apps allow you
to remap the keyboard so that ctrl-r will be bound to Reply Group. Can I do
this with the OL Newsreader?
As always, thanks.
