- HELP: Email body is deleted when i receive voting buttons response
-
Hi All,
Whenever I vote using voting buttons, Email body gets deleted when the
voting response is sent.
So for eg: If I have enabled voting buttons and asked to vote on something
from person xyz, the person xyz votes "accept" or "reject" and the email body
is deleted when I receive the vote response email.
Is there a solution for this? I want the email body to stay when I receive
the voting responses.
Thanks in advance.

- Time Offset by One Hour
-
This one's strange to me. I have one client in my organization that
when he sends a meeting request out or (to test this theory) he sends
himself an email it shows that it showed up using the correct date but it
says it showed an hour earlier. His system time is set correctly (we're in
CST) and when we look at the properties of his Outlook client\Calendar
Options it too shows he's in CST and it gives up the correct time/date.
Where am I not looking to get this fixed?
Any reply would be greatly appreciated -

- how do I delete attachments in the text body of received emails
-
I have just changed from 2003 to 2007 version of Outlook.
I can delete attachments in received mails which are stored in the top
banner, but if they are in the text body of the message I cannot delete them.
When I press the 'Delete' dutton on the top of the screen, the entire
message is deleted, even if I just highlight the attachment first.
There is no delete feature available on a right mouse click.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,..

But when the data is exported, i can't see in excel the date of

- Sensitivity
Is there a way to also write the date data of the emails of the

- 2007 Outlook & Word as editor

Just upgraded to Office 2007 (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Pt ) Windows XP
Some user was having random trouble with a yellow font on received and sent

Some answers mentioned the editor, so this leads to my question: what does
it mean it uses Word as editor? Just Spelling, auto-correct, spacing? What
else does Outlook use Word for?
Thanks for your time

- Applying corporate standards
-
The powers that be here have decided they want a particular look and
feel to our emails. I've worked out a method where I keep the email
signatures on the server and part of the login script uses RoboCopy to
make sure the workstation local files haven't changed.
Other parts of the request are a bit trickier to meet:
1. Ensure "Compose message in" is set to HTML
2. For both Replies and Forwarded messages, select "Include
original message text" (no indent!)
3. Set font for new messages and replies to Arial, 10 pt, black
4. For reply messages, set "Mark my comments with" to the
person's initials, ie. GL
5. Under Stationary and Fonts, set to "Use my font when replying
and forwarding messages"
6. No stationary should be used to disrupt the desired "clean"
look.
I know these all can't be controlled by a GPO, but I was wondering if
I could control them by loading a registry file of the applicable
lines during the workstation signin process?
We are mostly Outlook 2003 with a few 2007 in use. Domian controllers
are 2003 Standard and Exchange is running 2008.
Thoughts anyone?

- Accessing an OST file
-
I have a user that is looking for a long lost email that she "hopes" she
saved. Of course, she has many, many PST files. The email is not in any of
those. There are 3 OST files in the default Outlook folder on her computer.
Is there a way to open and search those files?
I've done some research and have read that if the OST is orphaned, then you
need to buy software that will let you convert the OST to a PST. That
doesn't seem to be the case here, it is in her windows folder.
Thanks

- Accidentally tried moving outlook folder to another drive....now cannot use Outlook 2007 on Vista

1. Was getting ready to back up laptop to install a full version of Windows

2. Accidentally tried moving the folder that held OUTLOOK DATA BACKUP folder
(outlook.pst and outlook1.pst)
3. Got an error message about moving it (realized then this outer folder
held outlook); so cancelled move.
-- outlook files did NOT get moved or copied to another drive
-- outlook.pst and outlook1.pst are still in original location
4. I have restarted my computer.
5. I tried starting Outlook 2007 (I have Vista version 6 service pack 2)
6. It gives me the following error (it will not open):
cannot open your default e-mail folders. file access is denied. you do not
have the permission required to access the file
7. I have tried going through online MS support. I have attempted to change
permissions as suggested. Nothing has changed.
Note: I wanted to try to go through MS support but I cannot access the
actual code INSIDE Outlook because it won't open. (doubting I would have
free support since the product is more than a year old I think) ... I do
have my Office product code.
Thank you very much for any assistance you may be able to give me.

- Outlook Group incoming email assignment via rotation
-
I need to define a group such that:
- Emails coming into the group email address (I don't know if thi
should be a distribution list or something else) can be forwarded to
single member of the group.
- Assignment of the email to a group member will be via round-robi
rotation through the group.
- Round-robin mechanism must be able to recognize when a group membe
is marked as out of office and assign the incoming email to the nex
group member.
I have no idea if this is possible, though I'm assuming that it woul
need to be servers-side (Exchange) rather than client-side. Which ma
mean I need to move it to a different forum. Please advise.
Anyone have any ideas? I'm hoping that this need has come up before an
a solution already exists. It's a pretty common requirement for a sale
group where you need to be able to provide sales leads with one commo
email address for point of contact, and then assign the incoming email
from those leads to sales reps on a fair and equial basis.
Thanks in advance

Det er lykkedes mig at koble min hotmail-konto sammen med outlook, så den

Hello,
If you save a draft reply to a message, Outlook marks it as "replied"
even if you've never sent the message because you cancelled it or your

extend right to Outlook 2007.
BTW if a mailbox is over-quota, can I still save a draft?! If not, why
is it still marked as "replied"!
We're just migrating to Exchange and it's driving our users crazy.

- What is the future of Outlook?

I have been using Outlook for about ten years and so have a lot of data that
I wish to preserve.
But Microsoft seem to be abandoning Outlook (unless you use are a corporate

across a variety of devices is still important to me. This is not possible
with outlook - unless you have Exchange.
So my question is - do I abandon outlook amd move to Windows live mail (with
its shortfalls compared to Outlook)? Or should I hang on to Outlook in the
hope that Microsoft will implement cloud synchronisation for Outlook?

Well, yeah, the problem persists! Restarting Outlook sometimes helps,
sometimes not.
This version is supposed to be able to handle large .pst files. Their inbox

Recently, incoming email appears multiple times in their inbox. IOW, the

- Deleted e-mails are not deleted.
-
I run a small network with mixed users of Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007
Until recently each user on the network stored mail in its own local PS
file however mail was controlled via our e-mail server (Softalk Mai
Server) which collected mail for each users account from our ISP. Eac
users Outlook then queried the mail server to bring in e-mail it ha
collected.
In order to create a centralised mail store I have installed an
configured another of Softalk products (Softalk Share Server) whic
provides a collaboration and centralised mail store alternative t
Exchange.
Since using this centralised mail store a problem has occurred which
thought must be an issue with the Softalk Share Server software
however when googling the problem it seems that many people have th
same issue when a centralised mail store is used, such as Exchange o
similar but I cannot find a resolution.
Now, when an e-mail arrives in a users inbox, if it is deleted befor
it is read (ie it has been viewed in the preview pane, deemed a
rubbish, but the e-mail has not been opened) then a second after it i
deleted it reappears back in the inbox. There are only two ways i
which the users can remove the e-mail (again) as selecting th
re-appeared e-mail and pressing delete again does not work, a messag
box comes up saying something like "the selected object could not b
located" If however the user shift-deletes the re-appeared e-mail the
they will be asked if they want to permanently delete the e-mail, the
say yes and the mail does delete for a second time. The other way o
making the re-appeared e-mail disappear is to select another folde
within the outlook folders such as deleted items or sent items or an
other folder and then return to the inbox, then the reappeared e-mai
has gone. This to me seems to be some sort of Outlook refresh issu
which I cannot get to the bottom of. Softalk are stumped and do no
know why it is happening and as I say, when I google this problem ther
are many people having exactly the same issue who do not use Softalk bu
another centralised mail store such as exchange or something else.
would be grateful if anyone here can shed some light on why this migh
be happening and any potential solutions. Thank you

- Error with extend.dat
-
I have a multi-user Access-application which creates Outlook emails using
automation (Office 2002). It has worked seamlessly for over 2 years now. The
application runs in a Citrix environment.
Since recently one of the users occasionally and for no apparent reason gets
the following error message: "An extension failed to initialize. Can't open
file extend.dat...". When he clicks OK everything continues as it should.
I Googled and found that it might help to delete the extend.dat file.
However, I can't find such a file in the user's private folder.
Does someone perhaps:
- have an idea where I should look for this file,
- or have an other idea how to debug this error?
Thanks in advance,
Lars

- Outlook 2007 SP2 calendar issue off by 1 hour??
-
we are having a minor issue with a few users with thier calendar being
off by an hour? these are all users with new machines, with all updates
installed, and also using new blackberrys, also with the newest OS
installed.
i maintain a windows server update server in our domain, and push out
all of the approved updates, so i know that they are installed.
any ideas???
ok, more info on this.
i believe its the Outlook client on the end users machine, as i was able
to log into his account in webmail and any new appointment i set up for
next week was fine, except for when he look at it in his outlook it was
behind by an hour(10am appointment show at 9am for him).

- Help -- Outlook 2000 SMTP problems (Internet mode)
-
One of my users messed up her Outlook by trying to send an email to a
mal-formed email address, i.e. john@smith and jones.tld insted of
john@smithandjones.tld. Now, whenever she right-clicks on a file and
tries to send it as an attachment via email, Outlook gives her an
error about trying to send to a malformed email address in the details
of the error message, but if you switch tabs on the dialog window, it
says outlook failed sending 25 messages.
None of the messages appear in the Outbox and I can't figure out how
to clear this. I've already created a new PST file, I've already run
the "outlook.exe /cleanprofile" and outlook.exe /safe and none of
these commands has worked. Is there somewhere to find the "stuck"
messages and delete them?
HELP!!!
