- Changing Zoom Level
-
On the 23rd of this month, I submitted the following request for help:
"When I open mail using Office Outlook 2007, the type is often too small for
me to read comfortably so I need to "zoom" it up. This works fine for the
particular mail message I have opened but as soon as I open the next
message, the screen reverts to its prior setting so It is necessary to zoom
it up again.
Is there a way to retain the zoom setting for all messages being opened?
Many thanks,"
Am I addressing the wrong newsgroup here or is the matter more complicated
than it appears?
Thanks again:
Gene L.

- Converting Outlook trial into full version
-
Hi, I wanted to try Outlook. The only trial version I could find that
included Outlook was Office Professional so I installed that. I have now
bought Outlook from Amazon. When I entered the activation code into the
current installation of Outlook it says code not valid. So I installed
Outlook from the disk that came from Amazon, I entered the code & it said ok.
But today I launched Outlook as usual & it says my free trial expires in 2
days !!! Help pls !! Thank you so much. David :-)

I purchased Outlook 2007 w/BCM online from Microsoft. I downloaded the

Does anyone know the next stpes I need to take?
Should I uninstall Outlook 2007 that's currently on the machine and
then install the complete Outlook 2007 w/BCM from scratch? Please

- accept/decline not updating Exchange calendar
-
I use Outlook 2003 with Exchange. My settings delivers the mail to the
Exchange Mailbox, but then I have a rule to move it to my local PST
inbox.
A problem started occurring recently where when I accept/decline a
meeting from the PST inbox, it doesn't update the status on my
Exchange calendar (the meeting is there, but the status didn't
change). It only updates the status on the PST calendar. (I think if I
accept/decline the meeting directly on the Exchange calendar, it
works; it only fails when I accept/decline from PST inbox).
What's strange is I've had this setup for years and it was working
fine. I did have to change the Exchange server name a couple of months
ago, not sure if that had anything to do with it.

- could not create the work file
-
I am using Outlook 2007 and just the other day, I started getting the
following error message:
Outlook could not create the workfile. Check the temp environment variable
I googled this error and found a couple of articles suggesting the fix is a
registry entry:
Key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User
Shell Folders
Value name: Cache
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
I verified the key has the correct value.
Does anyone have any other idea as to what is causing this error and how to
fix it?
Thanks.

- Changed Outlook Behaviror--How to Change Back?
-
Somehow, I changed Outlook so that two things are not as they were:
1. The keystrokes for "Send," <Ctrl>-<Enter>, no longer work. Nothing
happens (I suspect it was a change I made in Word to make it a little more
like WordPerfect, but I dunno); and,
2. The keystrokes for "Macro Run," <Alt>-<F8," bring up something related
to Help, instead of running a macro.
Obviously, it's a newby mistake, and I'll take that. But does anyone know
what I did, and how to reverse it?
Thanks.

- Disappearing Tasks
-
Hi All,
If there is anyone that can help me in solving this problem I will be
eternally grateful.
I recently purchased a laptop and was having problems when running my
PST file on a network drive. Subsequently I am trying to synchronize
the 2 copies between my desktop and lap top using All Sync software.
Here is the problem, after copying the .PST file from my desktop to
the Laptop all my tasks just "disappear". The odd part is that when I
open outlook on the Laptop when it first goes to Outlook today the
tasks are there. By the time the software loads though, they
disappear right before my very eyes.
I have tried manually copying the file, checked for filters that might
be applied. Check private vs public status and can not seem to come
up with an answer. The weirdest part as I mentioned is that I see
that tasks as Outlook starts to load, and THEN they disappear.
Anybody have any suggestions on things I could look at or what might
possibly be the problem?

- How to import .dbx files to Outlook e-mail program

- Outlook 2003 unable to decode some attachments
-
I have an install of Outlook that is unable to decode attachments from
two sources. Al that is displayed is the encoded text.
The mail comes into our mail server and hits a mailing list from which
it is distributed. In this case there are three recipients. Two of the
recipients get the attachment one doesn't. In each case the Outlook
settings appear identical. The attachment is a Word document.
At this point I'm a bit lost as most options seem to be encoding on
outgoing mail. I haven't approached the sender to check their settings
and all but this one Outlook installation gets the mail correctly.

- creating new Outlook profile
-
Two weeks ago I posted a message about getting recurrent requests for
network password in Oulook 2007 (Windows XP SP3). I've been trying
to do the new profile, but no luck. I found a duplicate personal
folder and ascertained that it was receiving recent messages (tried to
move my pst file to a different location). Before removing it, I
moved the messages to the main inbox, and then moved the 2nd personal
folder somewhere else (which Outlook shouldn't know about).
Then I tried to create a new profile. But now I still have a 2nd
Personal folder, and I am getting asked twice for passwords, and I've
noticed that I have duplicate messages for those that were in the 2nd
personal folder.
I was unsure about the instruction to "configure the new profile to
use the .pst file that was used by the damaged profile." At that
point I have 2 accounts --the old one, and the new one the
instructions said to create. Either one I chose ended up with 2
personal folders.
It's a real mess. How on earth do I get out of this?

- HTML Email to Lotus Notes - I can't read the replies
-
Here's the scenario...
1. I compose an HTML email in Outlook 2007 and send it to a client who's on

2. He replies to the email.
If I look at his reply on my web-based email client (looking at it as it

below it.
If I look at his reply in Outlook 2007, I only see my original email to him.
I do not see any reply, nor do I see my own original header.
Please don't tell me that I have to use Plain Text for all of my emails - it
really is limitiing. It was cool back in the 80's, but we should be past
that now.

- Format in HTML-Emails destroyed
-
Hi all
A client of mine uses an Exchange Server. Whenever I receive an Email
message from one of the clients employees the Email arrives in my Email
Client in text format. Any pictures included in the Emails are referred to
something like this: [cid:image003.png@01CAAE5E.6D357820]. The link points
to nowhere. This happens only if the sender is using Email in HTML format.
When they use the RTF format the Email arrives nicely.
Once my client deletes my Contact within the Exchange server and the users
send me an HTML Email and enter my Email address manually, the Email arrives
nicely too. With format HTML or RTF.
I even changed my domain host since I thought that the problem would be at
my providers side.
Any of you guys have experienced something like that before and would be
able to point something out to me?
Thanks for any help

- How do I set up Outlook on a home network to view emails from lapt
-
I have recently bought and installed Office 2007, and one of the main things
that I wish to be able to do with it is to have it installed throughout my
Home Network (One Main PC, two external 1Tb Hardrives on the network, and
access through a laptop too). My main wish for it is to be able to have the
main PC with Outlook 2007 open, at all times, to collect any emails that may
come in for me, yet still be able to access those emails, read them, but not
have them directly downloaded to my laptop (and not have them mix in with the
other emails already appearing on the main PC).
Is there a way of setting up Outlook on my Home Network so that I can do
this (have Outlook constantly running on the main PC, yet still be able to
read those emails from the laptop when I need to)?

Not sure if this is the right place but im trying to create a rule fo

and moves them to a specific folder in outlook.
Now all emails get sent to a shared email address and then we each tak
turns (a week each) replying to the ones we get so im thinking the bes
way to do this is if its possible to have a macro that automaticall
can do this? instead of pairing up my emails with replys all the time
even though i could just click subject and then select the ones i wan
this is very time consuming as we get alot of emails would be alo
easier if i could just press one button.
Please let me know if anyone can help me create a rule for this or i
its even possible..

- Can I sort/reorganize my mail folders (I have 3 accounts)
-
I have 3 mail folder accounts. Currently they are listed as follows in Mail
Folders
1. Personal Folder (linked to att account)
2. Hotmail Account setup via Outlook Connector
3. Live account setup via Outlook Connector
I would like the personal folder to be at the bottom of my list of mail
folders, the live account to be at the top, and the hotmail in the middle.
But when I try to move any of them, by drag/drop, nothing happens. It
appears you cannot move them.
Running Windows 7/Outlook 2007
I don't think I can remove the Personal Folder, but I just don't use the
email account it is setup to so I would like it to open "unexpanded" when
Outlook Opens.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

- Attachments have lost descriptive text, which now appears embedded in

Thanks in advance, if anyone has a suggestion.
Attachments downloaded from a list serve used to display fine (subject
of the attachment).
Something changed.
Now attachments are displayed as a list or array, of incomprehensible
attachment titles.
Within the text of the email there IS a list of the attachments.
I now have to find the correct attachment within the body of the
email, count and see what number the attachment is (like #3 of 4
attachments) and then count along the list of attachments outside the
message box and open that attachment number.
What a pain!
I tried right clicking > select all the attachments > View menu >
and can't find a selection that solves the problem.

I am trying to move items from a PST inbox from an older POP email
account to a newer IMAP account inbox in Outlook 2007. Sometimes when
I move
messages (by selecting 1 or more messages and dragging), they move
just fine keeping the original date. Sometimes,
they have the current date (date I moved them) as the received date.
Obviously, when the date changes it screws everything up. I cannot
figure out why it does it one way sometimes and another way other
times. Any ideas?

- email misses inbox and goes to subfolder
-
We have exchange server 2003 with service pack 2 and Outlook 2007. On one of
our employees computers the email goes to his subfolder named the company
name, I have renamed this to various other names and mail still goes there.
I even deleted the folder (it went to Deleted Items) and still the mail went
there, NOT to the inbox.
Cannot figure out how to get the mail to go to the inbox. Any ideas?
