- Any way to use headset for telephone call to a Contact?
-
The way Outlook seems to handle telephone calls is, you choose your
Contact, you select Communicate\Call, choose the phone number, and hit
"Start Call." Then you pick up the handset of your telephone to do the
talking.
Is there any way to make this work with a headset
(headphones/microphone) connected to the computer, instead of a separate
telephone?

Can I have two different outlook mail programs running on my deskto
using two different servers (Xplornet-satelight system, an

If I can, do I have to download the second Outlook, or how do I ge
another blank Outlook to start from scratch with for my new emai
address? My husband and I need two different accounts and would like t
have both using Outlook.
If this means anything, I am using Vista.
Would it work if I switch to another user name/profile when I log ont

- How to Set Default Margins and Tabs for Outlook 2007?
-
I have Office 2003 and use Word 2003 for the editor. When I start a new
e-mail, the margins and tabs on that page are identical to the defaults set
in Word's Normal template (normal.dot). That works great.
On the 2nd computer, I have Office 2007 and Word 2007. Even though I
modified the margins and tabs in Word's normal template (normal.dotm), those
settings don't translate to my e-mail messages. How can I modify the new
message margins and tabs in Outlook 2007? I am using the default stationary
(None) in both programs.
Thanks,
Jim

There is a link here below that says 'about display names' and it is blue and

- Two questions
-
Using OL 2003 on a WinXP system.
1. I need to run Outlook on both my desktop and my laptop. Is there a
pretty easy way to transfer my settings -- e-mail, addresses, notes, etc. --
from my desktop to my laptop?
2. This is about the newsreader. It's frustrating when you're used to
working quickly, as I am. I press "Reply," but this sets the response to
the poster instead of the newsgroup. I mean to remember to click on Reply
Group, but I keep forgetting. I use ctrl-r to respond. Some apps allow you
to remap the keyboard so that ctrl-r will be bound to Reply Group. Can I do
this with the OL Newsreader?
As always, thanks.

being asked this question each and every time I try to open an attachment?

Hi. I'm trying to make Outlook 2003 work and look like Outlook Express for
someone who hates change and went from XP to Windows 7.
I've clicked on "New Mail Message" then Tools > Forms > Design This Form.
From this point I've tried all kinds of ways to add a listbox above the
"To..." button, but can never get it to populate with the various email
accounts that are already setup in Outlook.
Any instructions in layman's terms would be appreciated...I'm a newbie.

- Moving emails
-
When you move emails from one folder into another in 2007, is there a way
you can avoid sending duplicates? In other words, if the exact email is
already in that folder and you try to send the same email into that folder,
is there a way it won't move it -- or at least ask you to confirm -- if the
exact email is already there. I'm assuming Outlook can determine it's the
exact email by title and date stamp or some other way.

Whenever Outlook 2007 is running, it repeatedly asks me for the
network password. i searched this forum yesterday and found a
previous response from Patricia Cardoza, MVP and followed the
instructions, though it was for Outlook 2002. I got into the registry

instructions said to click Yes in the warning message dialog box, but
there is only 1 (though 4 identities were listed) and all the boxes
were grayed.
I've re-entered the password in Tools/accounts and in Control Panel/

nuts--2 or 3 requests in a row every minute.

- Merging .pst files
-
Over the last couple of years I have been working from both a desktop and a
laptop computer when travelling (both running XP but with Outlook 2007 and
2003, respectively; but I'm told that shouldn't have any impact as they use
the same type of .pst file system). I have copied outlook, pst files from
one to another to ensure I'm always working with a current file.
However, during those years, I have not always understood how to manage that
process. Fortunately, I've always saved the old .pst file in case I screw
something up.
Well, I have screwed something up. My current archive.pst file has only
recent files in it. My plan was to merge all my archived messages into the
one archive.pst file, obviously so all my archived files are in the same
place.
What is the best way to do that? I've tested moving a folder from one .pst
file to another and it was a very slow process, about 15 minutes for a
folder with a couple of thousand messages in it. And I have several dozen
folders, though not with that many messages in them.
I also have two mailbox.pst files. I'm not sure what they are. Both were
created and last modified within minutes of creation five years ago.
I've read that .pst files should never be more than 2GB. Does that still
hold true for 2007?
Thanks in advance.

What do I change so that the SEND button causes the message to be SENT

Note: Pogue's Missing Manual for Windows XP (page 396) states that there
is a box in the TOOLS/Options/Send tab but my TOOL/OPTIONS does not have
the same tabs that show in Pogue's book.
Also when I hit Send/Receive I get an alert 623 that I can't find a

- Incoming font/formatting messing up
-
I sometimes get font/formatting messed up on incoming messages. I've looked
in all the settings I can think of & can't find the answer. It looks okay
in my web-based email version, but when Outlook downloads the message, it
gets corrupted.
For instance, this:
'Get Fit!' - Yoga w/ Tess
'Get Fit!' - Pilates w/ Meghan
became this (hope the corruption is visible):
§Â â?~Get Fit!â?T â?" Yoga w/ Tess
§ â?~Get Fit!â?T â?" Pilates w/ Meghan
I've tried changing various font & international settings, but haven't found
the right thing. I'm running Outlook 2007 (12.0.6514.5000) SP2 MSO

- Outlook 2007 crashes when printing email

Hello ,
I am doing deskside support for a large company and coming across this
problem. Outlook 2007 crashing randomly when users trying to print the
emails. For some users it happened one to two times a day.
Here are the details on the issue,
All users have XP SP3, Outlook 2007 sp2, kb972363 (yes, this patch but it
does not cause all the pc's to behave in same way and affecting may be 20+
users), Xerox MFD printers.
I have recreated windows profile, renamed Outlprnt file, tested the new
printer driver, installed the printer locally by creating TCP/IP (Network
printers), removed and reinstalled Office 2007, ran office diagnostic tool,
defrag, chkdsk, but nothing seems to be fixing the problem permanently

- Printing labels from Outlook contacts
-
I tried to print labels in Word using Outlook contacts as recipients but it
says Outlook is not my default mail. I do not want to use Outlook for my
mail. Can I temporarily make it the default just to run the labels, or would
this mess up my email I now have on Outlook Express?

- Trouble maintaining "date modified" information
-
How can I maintain the "date modified" information? It seems to updating this anytime I access or simply print the document. It is doing this even when I say "no" to saving changes. Since the details have "date accessed" and "date modified" should it not follow that definition. Does anyone know how I can keep modified the date modified to change only WHEN I truly modify it?

- Outlook 2003 - PST file compression
-
Hi, one of my colleagues has a problem with Outlook 2003 in that the
cannot receive any more mail with attachments, seemingly because th
PST file is sitting at 1.8GB. They already auto archive mail into a
archive PST file, which is around 18GB in size. The actual disk spac
left on the machine is only around 1GB, so performance is pretty slow
however, there is a spare D drive available with 38GB free. Does anyon
have any suggestions on a good approach for freeing up space on the PS
files (possibly by moving the current archive PST file to the D drive?)
while still having archived mail available for retrieval when necessary

Using MS Trackball Explorer wheelmouse with doubled ended cursor displayed...
for a minimal movement, scroll speed is so fast that email cannot be read.
How do I slow Outlook's scrolling speed down (working fine with all web

- Outlook 2010 Beta setup question
-
When going thru the setup process, the software automatically set me up as an
IMAP account, not POP3. During that process the setup messages said that it
also couldnâ??t set it up in an encrypted mode, so it did it unencrypted. I
think I know the difference between IMAP and POP3, but I donâ??t know if I
should be â??encryptedâ?? or not.
In any case, there are two sets of headings for Inbox, Sent items, etc. On
is under the heading â??Outlook Data Fileâ??, and the other set is under
myname@emailaddress.com. Also, the â??Sentâ?? folder under the latter is a
sub-folder under â??Inboxâ?? whereas the one under â??Outlook Data Fileâ?? is named
â??Sent Itemsâ?? (as opposed to just â??Sentâ??) and is in a separate folder.
Anyone know what the explanation is or where I should go to get it? Thanks!
