- 8007000B Error, nothing works to fix

Hi,
I have tried everything I´ve found on this web and the internet but I still
get the error.
To make my life harder, I can´t find my Toshiba Reinstall DVD
I have Norton 360 on the system (tried to disable but no luck)
I also have PerfectDisk 10 on the system
Any clue of what to do ? (apart from a full reinstall)

I keep getting a "fail" when trying to get the security update for Windows XP

but not resolved.

Since October 2009 I have not been able to update Windows vista,did not have
a problem before,it has started when I moved and started with a different
internet provider.Everytime I try to update it will show an error code

I work for an internet technical support company, the last 3 days I have seen
an abundance of people calling because now they are only allowed to get to
certain sites. most sites that require a login give page cannot be displayed,
yet other are coming up, after so many complaints with the same issue and
involving different sites I think it may be due to an update, any info would
be greatly appreciated.

I've a question... I'm trying to install SP1 for Vista...but its now already
more then 24 hours busy.
My laptop is restarting every 3 minutes and after that says again :
'fase 3 from 3 0%' and after a few minutes 99%
I don't think it's normal that it takes this long, is it? what can i do?

- Windows update error message (with a question and a fix)

I have a client which is having a problem running Windows Update on a Windows
SBS 2003 everytime I click on Windows Update after 10secs it comes back with
a message "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" tried google to find
a fix but everything I've tried does not seem to work. So today I decided to
ghost the sever drive on to a old 80GB to have a backup just incase something
happens it took 30mins to ghost then I tried booting from the new drive to
see if it would boot and was all good. The funny thing is that when it booted
I tried Windows Update and it worked fine. so I plugged the old drive in and
did a chkdsk /f /r when it got to stage 4 of 5 the computer locked up solid
hdd light and could not turn numlock off or on. Any ideas on how to fix or
should I just get a new HDD and re ghost?? Regards.

im running windows vista and geting error 643 when i try to install updates
specifically windows .net framework 3.5 sp1 and .net framework family update.
Think this might be relevant when trying to install ms office 07 (trial or
full version) i kept getting an error googled it instructions i found told me
to go to add/remove and remove the .net framework currently installed then go
to the microsoft site and reinstall the .net framework however when i checked
there was no .net framework in the add/remove in the 1st place and when i try
to download/install 3.5 manually I get error code 1603

- Whats the best practice to fix update failures from WSUS?

We have hundreds of machines that fail on one or two updates. They are all
different updates. Each one has a different failure reason. Is there a
quick fix for WSUS failure or do I need to troubleshoot each computer
individually. Its strange because 1 or 2 computers fail for almost every
update, they are not the same computer each time, but 98% of our machines
will install the updates with no problem. If there is no quick fix, is there
a set of instructions to follow that will help me to resolve the situation on
each machine?

You cannot d/l from this publisher on this machine.

I have a valid Enterprise version of Win7 installed on an employee
system that is used at home.
Periodically, the user gets "this copy may not be genuine", and
something about automatic update failed. (after the Windows genuine update).
The user can ignore the warning, and "System" shows that Windows status
is "Unknown" for a minute and then shows "Activated".
This valid licensed corporate copy is in use on a number of systems, but
this is the only workstation I know that is having problems.
Any clues on how to rid the sytem of this false warning?

This is a P4-HT 3gHz, 500gig HD with 2Gigs RAM, running AT&T DSL 3mpbs
connection.
McAfee antivirus
Turned off Windows firewall, no change.
Followed links to MS website "to get genuine", turned out to be an ad to
pay for a valid copy.... no help.

My Windows Update has been following four "important updates":
- 2007 Microsoft Office Suite Service Pack 2
- Update for 2007 Microsoft Office System
- Security Update for 2007 Microsoft Office System
- Security Update for Microsoft Office 2007
My problem is that when I try to install these updates (tried
all four together and one alone), I get the following error message: Error
found:
Code 64.6 Windows Update has encountered an unknown error.
Are there others who have had this error and have found a solution to the
problem
or just some who have a suggestion for how this problem can be solved?

Hello,
I was able to have all updates install, but i'm stuck with this KB979202.
When I install it, a box popup (windows Installer) and ask for "enter path
to folder containing installlation package silverlight.msi". ???
I try to uninstall silverlight and same message appear and ask for
silverlight.msi??

this update is installed & it appears in the registry & in the add remove
programs it installs says it installed succesfully but it keeps coming up i

Hi all: I have tried pretty much evrything listed here in other discussions.
It appears that my last update was January 2010. I am running XP sp3. I
would hope by now Microsoft would have a general fix for WUS issues. I know
this is a compllex issue but so many people can no longer get updtaes. is
this their way of trying to force us all to Win 7?

I recently tried to install update KB978542 on Windows Server 2003 SP2
Standard Edition with ISA Server 2004 version 4.0.2167.909 installed. After
the update was installed and I rebooted the Microsoft Firewall service would
not start and I had no Internet connectivity. The service was listed as
"Starting" and in the System event log we got an event ID of 7022 and the
description was "The Microsoft Firewall service hung on starting. After I
uninstalled the update everything worked fine.
Has anyone else with ISA Server experienced this problem? Is there a
solution by Microsoft?

initially got error message. After setting new batch files and other files
as suggested on this site - now I get message that "files not found" when
trying to download manually.
Using Windows XP and have loaded all available Pack 1, 2 and 3 updates -
through automatic or manually. Latest version of AVG in place and have had no
problems with any other updates loading.

My computer recently did an automatic update and I am having
black screen problems; ~ tells me my ATI driver needs updating
No Sound Device ~ SoundMaster no longer is an option in devices
No Modem ~ tried to fix by reloading driver etc
I have already gone to control panel. reloaded drivers from Lenovo website.
checked services for audio, it's set automatic, etc
I am using a Thinkpad T42 and everything was working fine before the
updates. Can someone offer some insight please. Thanks for the help in

Running XP, seems like once a month an update is downloaded and installed the
way they recommend, automatically, and my computer inevitably crashes!!!
If they can make it smart enough to break itself, why can't they make it
smart enough to fix it. I come here for help, and leave with a headache, and
my machine's future uncertain!
Maybe it's time to go back to MAC!!!!
At least those crashed less often.
So how's a guy to figure what the hell is wrong with his machine????
And please don't say use the trouble shooter...
oh yeah, what's the difference between windows update and microsoft update?
I'm inclined to shut off all automatic updates and the next time the machine
crashes, throw out all my windoze based machines and go back to mac!

For the last few weeks my laptop has been asking me to install updates but
when I shut it down to finish installing, the next time i turn it on it takes
ages saying 1 of 3 updates installing then says cannot install updates
